‘Yvestown kookt’ book review & GIVEAWAY

Hey friends,

I wanted to introduce you to ‘Yvestown kookt’, a new Dutch book that I had an instant crush on. Not just because it’s pink (but hey, that might be one of the reasons), but also because the author, Yvonne Eijkenduijn, just has this way of making everything she touches so pure and light and beautiful. I will admit I’m a little jealous (but good jealous) of that (and also her beautiful white and pink home!!!).

The book is a bundle of Yvonne’s columns that are honest, from the heart and pure pleasure to read. The recipes are divided into seasons and they are everything I love about food: honest, simple meals with not too many recipes you would want to eat every day and spoil your friends and family with. Most of the dishes can be prepared in less than 30 minutes and that is something that this new mom appreciates very mucho as I rarely have more time for cooking these days.

It’s really hard to pick my favourite recipes from the book but I can tell you that so far my tummy has chosen the following: sweet potato and bean burger, Leksands knäcke pizza and BBQ soft fries with melted cheese (yummmmmmmm!). Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 11.28.21

Go to my Instagram page, and tag a friend you are going to cook for on the post. Your friend can send me a thank you card later.

OMG my second book is coming out soon! And this time it’s all about drinking! OK OK, drinking lemonades. And iced teas. And infused waters. You know, I’m pregnant so my kind of drinking! HEHE

The book, called LIMONADE, will be in Dutch and will hit the stores in June, right on time for the summer = the lemonade season. I will teach you how to make basic syrups and syrups with cool flavours (all without the usual white sugar used in lemonade syrups) and will share over 50 recipes for fun lemonades like grilled pineapple lemonade, kiwi lemonade, blueberry and mint lemonade as well as adventurous iced teas like camomile and passion fruit and  some of my favourite infused waters.

Are you excited yet? NO? Ok, here is a little sneak peek of what’s coming in the book. Now get excited please!

BOOK: Fabulous Food Concepts

Today, I want to tell you about a wonderful and inspiring book I recently received (and quickly fell in love with) called Fabulous Food Concepts, Respecting the Planet. Bundled in four categories: fabulous to go, buy, shop and farm, the book is filled with sustainable food concepts created by passionate people from around the globe. From retail concepts, take-aways to diverse products and services, the book is such an inspiration for anyone who is thinking about starting a sustainable business but also for designers, marketers and just lovers of food in general.
A few of the concepts are the Belgian Soepmie, the German Mutterland or the UK Unpackaged. The US version of the Outstanding in the Field that I recently attended myself here in Belgium found its place in the book as well.  Not only is the concept of the book fresh and exciting, so is the presentation. This book, full of beautiful images in a stunning cover, is being proudly displayed in our living rom.
