Hello friends! I thought today I’d share some of my recent food styling & photography work with you. I don’t share my work here very often but once in a while I would like to show you what I’ve been up to when I was not blogging, especially when it is something I am particularly thrilled about. As pretty much every photographer, I have a list of sites, magazines, places where I would love my work to be featured. One of the magazines on my not so long list is a Polish culinary-lifestyle monthly called KUCHNIA that I have been a big fan of for a number of years now. When they asked me to style & shoot a photo for the September issue I almost fell off my chair. My assignment was a brioche with a wild rose petals jam – something much more complicated that my easy & quick recipes I usually share with you.
I will be honest and tell you that it took a lot of kneading, sweating and three brioches before I was happy with the result but the photo was accepted and appeared on page 4/5 of the issue.
For the October issue, my assignment was much more extensive than the month before. I spent a few days in the kitchen playing with nuts, preparing five recipes that appeared in the feature called ‘The Squirrel Party’.
Next to that, I was asked to do shoot the cover for the magazine. Quite a challenge as the covers of Kuchnia are very specific and not the usual style I work with and shoot. You can see the orange cover with nuts & squirrel in the first photo above, I am curious to hear what you think!
I have one other big thing on my list that might get crossed off soon as well – I will share it with you when everything gets more concrete.
Have a lovely weekend and let me know what you think about my work. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
