Another gift idea in the series of Valentine’s Day gift – mini madeleines! Homemade with love and mini because I simply have a mini-food fetish (you can’t blame me, tiny food is just so darn cute!!!). The recipe makes 40 mini madeleines so just think about how many people you will be able to show love to with this delicious gift! Pack them in small boxes or transparent paper, tie with a ribbon, and they’re good to go!
Ingredients
100g flour
30g ground almonds
100g caster sugar
100g melted butter (cooled)
3tsp honey
3 medium eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
Red food coloring
Method
Preheat the oven to 190C. Beat the eggs with the honey and sugar until light and airy. Mix together flour, ground almonds and baking powder and whisk in the egg mixture until well incorporated. Add red food coloring (start with a pinch if you’re using powder or a few drops if you’re using liquid and keep adding till you get the right color). Add butter and put the batter in the fridge for 30min.
If you’re using a silicone mold, spoon the batter into it and bake for 8-10min. If you’re using a tin, first butter and flour it before spooning the batter. Pack and gift (or eat and enjoy)!

My mom and I go crazy with miniature food!!
We see a small food in supermarket, and we have to buy it. Mini cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, mini-cabbages (yes!!!), mini-cookies… No mattes what it is!! And no matter if it’s our favourite dish or not!!
Since I saw the photo on FB, I was willing to have the recipe, and althought I haven’t (yet) the madeleine pan, I will find a suitable pan for this.
But I don’t know if I’ll be able to add the right amount of coloring to reach this bright and brilliant red!
Un beso!!
Mini cabbages??? I want to see that! For the food coloring I literally added a pinch of powder coloring. Food coloring is usually very concentrated so start with a little bit and keep adding if you don’t feel it’s red enough. I’m sure it will work out! <3
Your mini madeleines are so cute!!!!!! I love the red colour too.
Wat ben ik een bevoorrechte persoon om te kunnen zeggen. De koekjes zijn zo lief en ook hééééééééél lekker
These are super cute! I’m sure I’d appreciate them more than my boyfriend so just need to work out a way to get him to make them
Love madelines they are so perfect with a cup of tea and these look super especially with the red color.
Perfect little lovely gift for Valentine’s!
thank you all for the sweet comments! <3
