Les Chocolats by Nespresso + GIVEAWAY

Another chocolate post and another chocolate giveaway! You now know what I meant by saying that I’m being spoiled with chocolates!

Recently, I was invited by Nespresso to attend an event in the MIM (Music Instrument Museum) in Brussels. The event was organized to celebrate the launch of the Nespresso chocolates. A coffee company launching chocolates in Belgium, country known for the best chocolate in the world – that’s brave I thought. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but since I cannot say no to chocolate, I said yes right away!  And I have no regrets!

The location was gorgeous. The MIM restaurant provides a magnificent 360° view of Brussels. It’s one of my favorite brunch locations but I’ve never been there at night and I might say it looks even more impressive. Dinner was the state of art. It started with turbot tartare with Ossetra caviar and courgette flower filled with gin and lemon mousse. Next came tomato ravioli with artichokes, mozzarella di Bufala and chanterelles followed by cannolo with goat cheese and almonds.

And then there was time for chocolate tasting and I’m not going to lie, it was a pleasant surprise! Les Chocolates are superb. I can’t find a better word.  They come in 2 ranges, each with 5 different flavors. Les Grands Crus range is a selection of 100% pure origin chocolates: 3 pure chocolates from Java, Brasil and Trinidad, milk chocolate from Madagascar and white chocolate with vanilla from Tahiti. Les Variations selection has chocolates with delicious fillings including Passion Gingembre, Vinaigre de Framboise, Fusion Agrumes, Vanille Rose and Caramel Beurre Salé.

My absolute favorite is Caramel Beurre Salé. This chocolate gently breaks in your mouth and releases the salted butter caramel … heaven!!! I must have eaten 30 of those during the event. My other favorite is white chocolate with vanilla, which came quite as a surprise since I usually prefer pure and milk chocolate to white.

Now the best part! Nespresso is kind enough to offer one of you a box of 50 chocolates and you can choose yourself whether you want to receive the Les Grands Crus or Les Variations box!

How to enter:
Comment below telling me which of the Les Chocolates box you would prefer and why. That’s it!

The giveaway ends on Monday, October 31 at midnight CET. The winner will be chosen randomly and will be announced here on Tuesday, November 1. This giveaway is open to everyone!

Good luck!

I would choose the one with salted caramel as I love the contrasts in flavours – salty, rich caramel ideally enhances the earthy flavour of chocolate making it shine even more. I think that their texture must be lovely as well!

although both varieties sound great, i would have to go with the Les Variations because the salted butter caramel is making my mouth water right now!! yummmm.

  3. Anna

Les Grand Crus just sound truly delicious! I’m practically in love with chocolate and these varieties are so exotic! I think I would be able to picture myself in Trinidad, Brasil, Java, Madagascar or Tahiti just by eating one of these special chocolates… :)

  7. Ragna

Both sound great, but I prefer Les Grand Crus. A pure taste of chocolate with coffee is the best combination.

  8. Denise

Lucky you for getting to eat all that yummy food with a great view.
MMMmmhhh both boxes sound tempting, but that white chocolate with vanilla bean sounds devine so I would say Les Grands Crus.

  9. Margot

Although both sound incredible, I would have to say Les Variations – the flavours might be perhaps, for some, JUST classic, yes, but they are classic for a good reason! If the quality is as good as stated above, I imagine they would pretty much rock my world.

Giving chocolate to others is an intimate form of communication. It’s a sharing of deep, dark secrets.
Can I share those Grand Crus secrets with my friends?

As tempted as I am by the salted caramel, I’d prefer to try Les Grands Crus because I generally prefer plain chocolates to chocolates with fruit fillings.

  12. Paula

I would love to taste these chocolates with a good espresso!
And especially would prefer Les Variations box, because it seems so perfect to taste strawberry vinegar or saltie butter with some chocolates! It must be so special!

  13. Samantha

While ALL the chocolates sound delicious, I’d love to try Les Variations – I’m a truffle gal at heart, what can I say? Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
