Last week I was invited by Unlimited PR to attend the Illy Food Bloggers event for my first coffee tasting ever! Yes, first time EVER! People tend to think that I’m not much of a coffee lover since they usually see me consuming liters and liters of green tea, but I actually do love coffee. Good coffee for that matter!
.
The event was a blast and it was great to meet some new Belgian food bloggers! We tasted three cups of Illy coffee and to do that we all got a spoonful from each glass and slurped the coffee – it is apparently done to aspirate the taste over the entire tongue! Indeed, you need to slurp! Strongly and loudly!
.
What I thought was great about the event was that we not only learned all about the Illy coffee (which is btw produced from just one type of bean – Arabica), but also about coffee in general. And we even got some handy coffee tips and tricks. For example, did you know that 50 coffee beans are needed to produce one cup of espresso? And that once you open the coffee, it will stay fresher if you keep it in the fridge? Well, now you know!
.
Thanks again to Illy and Unlimited PR for the lovely event!
