Chocolate Crinkles

I finally made them! The famous chocolate crinkles! They are so rich and fudgy, no one can resist them! And they are quite easy to make too.

Ingredients
50g butter
220g pure chocolate
100g sugar
200g flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar (about 100g) for the topping
*For a special effect you can add a few drops of a rum extract or mint extract.

Method
Put chocolate and butter in a small pan, place it over a bigger pan of simmering water (au bain marie) and allow to melt. Remove the pan from the heat when the mixture is smooth and lump-free. Let cool off for 5min.

In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Add melted chocolate and mix until smooth. In another bowl, mix flour, baking and salt. Add dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and stir until incorporated. Form a big ball, wrap in food foil and put in the freezer for 2-3 hours.

Heat oven to 180C. Take out the dough and roll 2.5 cm balls (size of a walnut). Put powdered sugar in a shallow bowl and dip the balls in there until completely white.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and put half of the balls on there. Put in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. Do the same with the other half. Let cool off for a little bit and enjoy!
